Few details of these thirty years exist. Beyond the birth details, the early sections deal with the required sacrifices of purification, the coming of the Maji, and the death of the innocents. After the family returned from Egypt, Luke skipped to what was probably a trip to Jerusalem for Jesus’s Bar-Mizpah. Mathew and Mark skip it all together.
