“As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Continue in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just like I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. I have told you these things so my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you.

“From now on, I will not call you servants, because a servant doesn’t know what his lord is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from my Father, I’ve told you. You did not choose me, but I have chosen you, and destined you to go and bring forth fruit. That fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
