Treasure in Heaven

Matthew 6:16-24

“Moreover, when you fast, don’t be a fraud with a gloomy face. They make their faces gaunt, so they will look like they are fasting. I tell you the truth. They have their reward! But you—when you fast, fix your hair and wash your face, so no one knows you are fasting. Then, your Father, who sees in secret will reward you openly.

“Don’t prize things here on earth, where moth and rust ruin and thieves break in and steal. Rather, cherish what you deposit in heaven. There, nothing is spoiled or rusted and there are no thieves. Where your treasure is, your heart will also be.

“The light of the body is the eye. Therefore, if your eye is good, your whole body will be enlightened. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. And if your light is darkness, how great is that darkness!

“No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one of them and love the other, or he will follow one and disregard the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
