Philippians 2:5b-7

Messiah Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider his divine equality something to be clung to, but emptied himself, taking on the form of a slave in the likeness of man, and in manner being found as a man…

John 1:1-5; 10-14

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word. This one was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him and without him not one thing which has become came into being.

In him was life; and that life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness and the darkness does not overcome it... He was in the world, and the world came into being through him, but the world did not know him. He entered his own creation and his own people received him not.

But as many as received him, he gave the right to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. They were not born of flesh and blood, nor by human descent and choice, but birthed of God.

And the Word was made flesh, camping with us. And we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
