Women Purchase Burial Spices

Most likely, the burial of Jesus by Joseph and Nicodemus was at night. They would have requested the body after the Passover Sabbath ended, then removed the body and placed it in the tomb. Apparently, the women watched where Jesus was buried and went home, agreeing to regather to buy what was needed for the body’s proper preparation. Having gathered what they needed on Friday and knowing they couldn’t finish before the weekly Sabbath started that evening, they planned to finish Sunday morning.
