Matthew 27:45-53
Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour, there was darkness over all the land. About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is to say, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
When some standing there heard him, they said, “He’s calling for Elijah.” One of them quickly ran and filled a sponge with vinegar. He put it on a stick and offered it to him to drink. One said, “Let him alone. Let’s see if Elijah will come and save him.”
Jesus, when he had loudly cried out again with a loud voice, released his spirit.
And look! The veil of the temple was ripped in two from the top to the bottom. There was an earthquake breaking the rocks and opening the graves. Many saints who were asleep arose and after his resurrection appeared to many in the city.
Mark 15:33-38
At the sixth hour, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour, Jesus loudly cried, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
When some standing there heard him, they said, “He’s calling for Elijah.” One of them quickly ran and filled a sponge with vinegar. He put it on a stick and offered it to him to drink. He said, “Let him alone. Let’s see if Elijah will come and take him down.”
And Jesus loudly cried out and released his spirit. The veil of the temple was ripped in two from the top to the bottom.
Luke 23:44-46
At about the sixth hour, darkness fell all over all the earth until the ninth hour. The sun was darkened and the veil of the temple was torn in two in the middle. After Jesus had loudly cried out, he said, “Father, into your hands I release my spirit.” After he said that, he released his spirit.
John 19:28-30
Jesus knowing everything had been accomplished, he fulfilled the scripture, saying, “I’m thirsty.” There was a container there of vinegar, so they filled a sponge with vinegar, put it on hyssop stalk, and lifted it to his mouth.
When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished,” bowed his head, and released his spirit.
