Healing of the Leper
Matthew 8:2-4 & 9:2-8, Mark 1:40-2:12, Luke 5:12-26
Matthew 8:2-4
Look, a leper came and worshipped him, saying, “Lord, if you choose to, you can make me clean.” And Jesus reached out, touched him, and said, “I so will. Be clean.”
Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. Rather, leave and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded as a testimony to them.”
Mark 1:40-45
And a leper came to him, pleading with him while kneeling before him. He said to him, “If you choose to, you can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And as soon as he had said the words, the leprosy left him, and he was clean.
Immediately, Jesus sent him on his way ordering him to keep quiet. He said, “See that you don’t tell anyone. Rather, leave and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded as a testimony to them.”
Luke 5:12-26
And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city—look, there was a man completely leprosis. Finding Jesus, he fell on his face and pleaded with him, saying, “Lord, if you choose to, you can make me clean.” And he reached out and touched him, saying, “I choose to; be clean.”
Immediately, Jesus sent him on his way ordering him to keep quiet, saying, “See that you don’t tell anyone. Rather, leave and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded as a testimony to them.”
Jesus grew in fame and great crowds sought him. They came to hear his teachings and be healed. However, he went into the wilderness and prayed.
