Deliverance of a Demon Possessed Man
Matthew 12:22-23
Galilee; most likely Capernaum
Sometime in January or February, 32 A.D.

Their morning meal was apparently disturbed by a sad case, a man who was demonized and who could neither speak nor see. Surely the compassion of Jesus put his own needs for food aside to liberate this poor wretch. The text says nothing about him being delivered, but the implication is that the blindness and inability to speak was because of the demonic infection and that he was delivered.

The people began to claim that Jesus might be the Messiah by wondering if he was the promised “son of David.”
