End of the Day Miracles
Matthew 9:27-34
Galilee, most likely Capernaum
Sometime in January-March, 32 A.D.
Matthew tells us that as Jesus was leaving, he was met with one more request for healing and a deliverance. We assume he was leaving the house of Jarus, but it could have been from Capernaum enroute to his home in Nazareth. The probability is that Jesus ended about thirty-six hours of ministry with two last answers to mankind’s needs.
The Pharisees continued to try to discredit the miracles that were impossible to ignore by calling them demonic. Having sought a sign, they ignored the miracles that would have convinced them if they had honestly sought to know the truth.
Did he go directly to Nazareth? Probably not, considering their need for sleep. More likely, the trip to Nazareth came some days later in order to be there for the Sabbath.
