All of this apparently occurred rather early in the morning. Shortly, Jesus’s family arrived and wanted to see him. We aren’t told what they wanted, but earlier we were told they were concerned he was overtaxing himself.

This is out of order in Luke, but he does not specify the time the event occurred. Perhaps Luke attaches it to the parable of the lamp to emphasize that those who do as Jesus has directed are his closest relations.
