Parable of the Lamp
Mark 4:21-25, Luke 18:16-18

Mark 4:21-25

And he said to them, “Does someone bring in a light to put it under a bucket—or under a bed—rather than on a stand?  Nothing is secret that will not be revealed. Neither is anything hidden that will not be made known and obvious. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. With whatever level you listen, it will be given to you. And to those of you who hear, more will be given. He who has will receive; and those who lack will lose even what they have.”

Luke 8:16-18

“No man lights a lamp and covers it with a bucket—or puts it under a bed. Rather, he puts it on a stand so those who enter can see the light. Nothing is secret that will not be revealed. Neither is anything hidden that will not be made known and obvious.

“So, be careful how you hear, for more shall be given to he who has; and whomever lacks, what he seems to have will be taken.”
