The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Look! The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. This is the one about whom I said, ‘After me comes a man from before me, for he was before me.’ But I did not know who he would be, except that I came immersing in water so he would be made known to Israel.”

And John testified, saying, “I saw the Spirit coming down from heaven as a dove, and He remained on him. I did not know him, but I was told, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descend—and remain—that same one is he who immerses with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen, and swear that this is the Son of God.”
