Apostles Celebrate the Sabbath Following the Ascension

When we follow the calendar, we discover that the ascension occurred on a Friday. How unique! Jesus’s work finished, he now ascended into heaven to enter that “Sabbath” about which the writer of Hebrews speaks. In turn the Apostles return to Jerusalem to what would have been an observance of the Sabbath.

We can date this because it was ten days before Pentecost, which was a set day on the Jewish lunar calendar.
