Matthew 27:27-29

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered all those on duty around him. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. Then they platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They gave him a reed, put it in his right hand, and bowed on their knees before him. They mocked him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Mark 15:15-18

So, Pilate, willing to please the mob, released bar-Abbas to them, and after he had scourged him, delivered Jesus to be crucified.

And the soldiers led him away to the hall called the Praetorium; and they called together the whole band. They clothed him in purple, platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head. Then they began to salute him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Luke 23:24-25

And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they demanded. And he released to them the one imprisoned for sedition and murder whom they wanted. But he turned Jesus over to their desires.
