Jesus Teaches and Returns to Bethany

Matthew 21:14-17, Mark 11:19, Luke 19:47-48, John 12:36b

Matthew 21:14-17

The blind and crippled came to him in the temple and he healed them. When the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children proclaiming in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were sore annoyed, and said to him, “Do you hear what they are saying?”

And Jesus said to them, “Yes! But have you read, ‘Out of the mouth of babies and nursing children, you have perfected praise?” And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he was a houseguest.

Mark 11:19

When evening came, they left the city.

Luke 19:47-48

He taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the leaders of the people, sought to destroy him. But they couldn’t find a way because the people were very attentive when he taught.

John 12:36b

Jesus taught these things and left, avoiding further involvement with the crowd.
