Jesus Weeps for Jerusalem

As he approached the city and first saw it, he wept. He said, “If you had only known—even you—in this day, what would bring you peace. But now, they are hidden from your eyes.

“The time is coming, when your enemies will dig a trench around you, encompass you on every side, and level you to the ground. They will not let your children escape. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
