The crowd spread their garments in the road. Others cut down branches from the trees, and put them on the road. Those ahead of him and behind, cried out, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.”
Luke 19:37-38
As he approached Jerusalem, where the Mount of Olives descends, the whole crowd of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God boisterously. They did so because of the wonders they had seen, saying, “Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.”
And some of the Pharisees in the crowd of pilgrims said to him, “Rabbi, scold your disciples.”
And he answered them and said, “I tell you that if these should be quiet, the stones would immediately cry out.”
