Continued Ministry in Galilee

Luke summarizes the First Galilean Ministry by listing those who worked with Jesus. We find that Mary Magdalene was an early convert and that she had been delivered from demonic control. Joanna is an early follower. She was the wife of Chuza, who served Herod Antipas in some capacity. Last, he mentions Susanna and adds that there are others that he does not name.

We know little to nothing of these ladies. Generally, it is thought that they—especially Joanna—were wealthy and supported the band financially.  When Luke wrote his record, there is a good chance these women were still active in the early church and witnesses whom he interviewed.
