The Women Report Their Discovery
Mark 16:10-11; Luke 24:9-12; John 20:18
Jerusalem
Sunday, March 8, 33 A.D.
The women all rushed together to tell of the resurrection. They shared their messages from the angels and Jesus to skeptical men who give them no credit as potential messengers of God. Though they all affirmed the truth of their report, Mary Magdalene is given the most attention. One wonders why? The speculation is that she may have been the most insistent. Nonetheless they didn’t believe any of them.
Most make this report of Peter’s trip to the tomb the same event John records, but it makes more sense as a second trip. Anyone who has repeatedly looked in the same place for something dear that has been lost, can identify with persistent investigation of the same area.
